Blotter Feb. 23: Police called after child left in car outside restaurant

SALISBURY — A burrito stop ended with a police call Wednesday after a child was left in a car.

According to a police report, a woman parked her car in front of Go Burrito, 115 W. Fisher St., and went into the restaurant to get a pick-up order about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. She left her 3-year-old child in the car, the report said. Someone noticed the child and called police.

The report indicated that the air conditioning was running inside the vehicle and the woman was inside the restaurant for just a few minutes.

No charges were listed in reports.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

  • A man in the 8200 block of Park Edwards Road, Kannapolis, reported items stolen from a vehicle Tuesday.
  • A man reported a burglary Tuesday in the 200 block of Northcrest Street, Kannapolis.
  • A student was found in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia at West Rowan High School.
  • A woman reported a burglary in the 6800 block of Woodleaf Road, Woodleaf.
  • William Jack Daniel Upright, 31, was charged Tuesday with breaking and entering in the 900 block of Church Street, Concord.
  • Tyler Amier Spencer Nichols, 17, was charged Tuesday with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance after he had marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia while at West Rowan High School.
  • Ashley Nicole Rattz, 22, and Richard Melvin Goodman were charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer in the 600 block of St. Peter’s Church Road, Gold Hill, on Tuesday.
