Bills ~ Dixon Wedding

Mary Cullen Reece Bills and Phillip Ray Dixon III, both of High Point, were united in marriage Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point.

The Reverend Jared Earl Stine officiated the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by organist Franklin G. Pifferetti Jr.; soloist Michaela Kelly; violinists Amanda Matthews and Sarah Womack; violist Angela Toney; and cellist Kay Fitzpatrick.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Andrew Bills of High Point. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Jack Plummer Safley of Salisbury and the late Mr. Jack Plummer Safley, and Mrs. Donald Reese Bills of Salisbury and the late Mr. Donald Reese Bills. A 2009 graduate of High Point Christian Academy, she is a 2013 graduate of High Point University where she also earned a master’s degree in 2014. She is a teacher at High Point Christian Academy.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. George Marvin Wallace Jr. and Mr. Phillip Ray Dixon Jr., both of High Point. He is a 2010 graduate of High Point Central High School and a 2015 graduate of Appalachian State University. He is employed with D & D Enterprises in Greensboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and was given in marriage by her parents. Elizabeth Bills Weaver of Atlanta, Ga., served as her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ellen Elizabeth Amos of St. Louis, Mo.; Olivia Lane Cochran of Raleigh; Kara Myers Dixon of High Point; Charlotte Maitland Horney of Spartanburg, S.C.; Sydney Marie Nance of High Point; Rocio Riestra Morales of New York, N.Y.; and Hailey Brandt Wood of Tampa, Fla.

The bridegroom chose his father, Philip Ray Dixon Jr., to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Michael Bentley of Asheville; Bradford Cecil Clinard, Christopher Howard Hill and Caleb Douglas Hughes of High Point; Zachary Steffan Lavasque of Raleigh; Nicholas Kevin Murphy of Greensboro; and Zachary Lee Nifong of High Point.

The bride’s brother, Andrew Carter Bills of Asheboro and her brother-in-law, Andrew Wesley Weaver of Atlanta, Ga. assisted as ushers.

The bride’s niece, Mary Rush Catherine Bills of Asheboro, served the bride as flower girl and was attended by Olivia Rutledge Beaver of High Point. Harold Stuwart Nunn III of High Point was crucifer. Ellison Ruth Beaver and Jane Chandler Nunn of High Point served as acolytes. The couple chose Ann Lyall MacMurry of Washington, D.C. as a reader.

Program attendants were Lily Isabella Alarcon and Sophia Annabella Alarcon of Atlanta, Ga.; and Sarah Katherine Barbour of High Point.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at High Point Country Club at Emerywood.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will make their home in High Point.
