Police: Man, woman taken to hospital following Friday night shooting

SALISBURY — A man and woman were taken to the hospital Friday night following a shooting into a South Shaver Street home.

Salisbury Police were called at 8 p.m. to South Shaver Street in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they found that cars parked in the yard at 502 S. Shaver St. had been shot into, according to a press release.

A house at 316 S. Shaver St. had also been shot into, officials said.

Police found two people who had been shot, Christopher Evans, 26, and Edwina Agnew, 36. Police said their injuries were not life-threatening.

The Salisbury residents were taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Police continue to investigate.
