Public meeting for proposed new roadway in Rowan County

WINSTON-SALEM — Transportation officials will hold a public meeting this week on a proposed new roadway in Salisbury, from Bendix Drive to Faith Road and Faith Road to U.S. 52 at Newsome Road.

“The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow, safety and accessibility to commercial areas,” said Division 9 Engineer Pat Ivey.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. S.

Residents are encouraged to attend at any time during those hours. There will not be a formal presentation.

N.C. Department of Transportation and consultant staff will be available to provide information on the project, answer questions and receive comments.
