MEDICAL SERVICES

VA Medical Center: Outpatient clinics operated by the Salisbury VAMC will be closed Saturday, Jan. 7. Staff is contacting patients with appointments to reschedule. The VA emergency department will remain operational. Veterans with an emergency outside the Salisbury area should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Charlotte VA Health Care Center (HCC) will be closed Saturday.

Kernersville VA Health Care Center (HCC) will be closed Saturday.

Salisbury VAMC Outpatient appointments and procedures are canceled for Saturday.

SCHOOL/CITY/SPORTS

Rowan Public Library: All locations closed Saturday.

Catawba College: Move-in for returning and new students is rescheduled from Sunday to Monday. Updates may be issued as warranted. Other dates also have changed: see more info.
Catawba and Brevard postponed Saturday’s SAC basketball games until Sunday at 2 p.m. for women and 4 p.m. for men.

Rowan-Salisbury Schools: All afternoon, evening and weekend activities are canceled.

Cabarrus County Schools: All activities are canceled through Sunday.

Kannapolis City Schools: All after-school and extracurricular activities canceled through the weekend

Livingstone College: Saturday’s games against VSU Trojans have been rescheduled for Sunday at 2 & 4 p.m.

Rowan County Crosby Scholars: Activities scheduled for Saturday are rescheduled for Jan. 14. If you signed up for a Saturday program, your name will be on the roster for the rescheduled programs.  Call 704-762-3512 with any questions.

Town of Landis: Monday’s meeting of the Landis Board of Aldermen is canceled. The next meeting will be Feb. 6.

Town of Rockwell: Monday’s meeting of the Board of Aldermen is postponed to Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Salisbury Parks and Recreation: All facilities will be closed Saturday. Basketball games at Hall Gym are canceled.

All Rowan County parks including Dan Nicholas Park, Ellis and Sloan parks will be closed Saturday and Sunday.

Kannapolis City Board of Education will begin its meeting at 3 p.m Monday instead of 5 p.m.


BUSINESS

YMCA: All branches of the YMCA of Rowan County will be closed Saturday.


ENTERTAINMENT

Faith & the Arts: Drum Circle at Center for Faith & the Arts was postponed until Jan. 13.

Lee Street Theatre: The Chatham County Line Show was rescheduled to March 24.

Dan Nicholas Park: Closed Saturday and Sunday.


CHURCH

Life Church, Salisbury: All Sunday services will be consolidated to 11 a.m. After an assessment of road and parking lot conditions, a final decision on the service will be made by 7 a.m. Sunday.
