KANNAPOLIS — Mayor Darrell Hinnant has called a special meeting of City Council at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday related to economic development.

According to the agenda, the council likely will go into executive session to consult with its attorney and to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or businesses in the area.

The meeting will be held at the Kannapolis City Hall, 401 Laureate Way.

The council’s next regular meeting is scheduled on Jan. 9.
