We’re going down if we don’t change our ways

Our country is in trouble. Our leaders don’t understand just how bad off we are. We, as a nation, have turned our backs on Almighty God. When we worship Him it is in pretense, if at all. We think we can live as we please in this life and everything will still be OK.

God is not mocked. Whatsoever we sow, that we will reap. There is only one way to salvation, forgiveness of sins and eternal life. He died on the cross, a perfect sacrifice for us. All we have to do is confess and repent of our sins and ask Him to come and live within us.

The Lord Jesus Christ is waiting for you, but He will not wait forever. Where will you spend eternity? Our lives can end at any moment, all it takes is a blood clot, a car on the wrong side of the road or a stray bullet, and we are in eternity.

Judgment is coming down on our nation. We permit the wholesale murder of millions of innocent babies. We accept and promote a lifestyle that God calls abominable.

If we do not beg forgiveness and turn back to God, our nation is doomed. We can look forward to more and worse storms, droughts, fires, earthquakes, floods, murders, riots, pollution of our air and water, and the list goes on.

The Democrats cannot save us. The Republicans cannot save us. Donald Trump cannot save us. We are going down. Do not think it cannot happen. It can and will if we do not change. May God have mercy on us.

Impressed by Hall Steele

I did not know Hall Steele as well or as long as most local folks, but I was impressed by what I did know. He was friends with Tunnie Dyson and I met him a couple times when dating Tunnie. I was also fortunate enough to have dined with his wife and him while celebrating the 95th birthday of Bart Bartholomew.

As I am a Rowan County veterans service officer, Mr. Hall Steele had an appointment with me on Tuesday, Dec. 6. He had a heart attack and, on the way to the hospital in the ambulance, he made his wife promise to call and cancel his appointment with me. She said that he repeated it many times. He was thinking of someone else while he was in pain. Amazing!

They’re baaack! Thanks

We have missed so much our favorite comics in the Post for the past few weeks. Thanks so much for bringing back Family Circus, Dennis the Menace and Blondie. They have great messages that we have missed.
