Yesterday: Cannon Mills’ No. 7 Spinning Room employees in 1928

Back on Nov. 21, the Post ran a photograph of people who worked in the No. 7 Weave Room at Cannon Mills Co. on Nov. 1, 1928. That photo looked quite similar to the above photograph, taken in the same spot, but these people are actually the employees of the No. 7 Spinning Room at Cannon Mills Co.’s Plant No. 1 in Kannapolis. Mary Sechler provided both photos. Her nephew, Andy Sechler, came across them when he was taking care of his father’s estate. The prints measured 7.5-by-20 inches, and were framed. Mary is hoping someone out there has more information to go with the pictures, which she has passed on to the historical society. Andy Sechler’s father, Robert ‘Junior’ Sechler Jr., and grandfather Robert Sechler Sr. both worked at Cannon Mills.
