Salisbury man charged with stealing beer, running from officers

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Salisbury man on Friday after he reportedly stole an 18-pack of Busch Ice, two cases of Budweiser, possessed cocaine and fled on foot after a traffic stop, according to warrants.

Rodriquez Dwayne Mashore, a 35-year-old Salisbury resident, faces charges of resisting a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, possession of a controlled substance on jail premises and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Mashore was booked into the Rowan County jail early Saturday morning and remained in jail on Sunday under a combined bond amount of $15,500.

Warrants state that on Friday Mashore was involved in a traffic stop by a sheriff’s deputy. Mashore allegedly didn’t obey the deputy’s commands and fled on foot.

Both of Mashore’s drug charges — possession on jail premises and felony possession of a schedule II substance – are connected to cocaine, according to warrants.

Both of his larceny charges are tied to the theft of beer from a gas station, warrants state. He allegedly stole two cases of Budweiser and an 18-pack of Busch Ice.
