Rail Walk Studios & Gallery would like to invite everyone to Tatyana Shurtz’s original art exhibition where traditional art of oil and canvas fuse with futuristic digital artistry.

Visitors may view the works at Rail Walk’s from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays–Saturdays, December and January or by appointment any day.

The opening reception is Friday, Dec. 16, from 6-9 p.m.

That’s when the Virtual Reality presentation of one of Tatyana’s paintings will also take place for the first time. Come to meet the artist and enjoy art, technology, wine and refreshments. Rail Walk Studios & Gallery is located at 409-413 N. Lee St. in the historic Railwalk Arts District. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Ms. Shurtz is a professional artist with a fresh and whimsical approach to art. Her style is surrealistic, detailed and bright. Tatyana draws inspiration from everyday life as well as worldly events creating philosophically rich works of art.

For Tatyana, every painting is a deeply personal expression of life, where dreams and reality coexist. Serious and thoughtful yet lighthearted and fun, her paintings are fantastical dreamscapes that spark the imagination and provoke the viewer’s interpretive mind’s eye.

In a fusion of art and technology Tatyana is working with her husband, Vern, to create an Augmented Reality (AR) visualization for one of her recent paintings. Utilizing a mobile tablet the viewer will be able to see the painting come to life when looking at the artwork through the tablet’s camera view.

Vern is the founder of Stratus Technology Group and his company specializes in Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) development for the medical, industrial, and educational sectors. Stratus has recently moved its development lab into the Salisbury Business Center.
