Thanksgiving is over and the Christmas season has officially started in China Grove.

The town will hold a tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Saturday. The event will occur in Hanna Park.

At the tree lighting, the students from China Grove Middle School are scheduled to sing Christmas carols. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Mayor Lee Withers will say a few words before he lights the town’s Christmas tree.
