EAST SPENCER — The town of East Spencer is hosting its fourth annual Veterans Day ceremony Friday to honor veterans and victims of all wars.

The ceremony will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at town hall, 105 S. Long St.

“This incentive embraces our mission of ‘Home of Heritage and Promise,’ ” said Mayor Barbara Mallett.

Evangelist Towanda McNeil, a U.S. Army veteran, is the guest speaker for the event. McNeil is a Rowan County native and an educator for the Rowan-Salisbury School System.

McNeil said it is her “desire to see people, especially women of God, walking in their divine purpose for God’s glory.”

Mallett said events like this “give citizens of East Spencer a glimpse of light of what’s coming in the near future to East Spencer.”

The town encourages everyone in the community to attend for fellowship and enlightenment.
