Plans set for 10th edition of Rowan County History Course

SALISBURY — The Rowan Museum and Historic Salisbury Foundation are partners again in presenting their 10th edition of the Rowan County History Course.
The 2017 history course will be conducted over 13 weeks on Thursdays from Feb. 2 to May 4. Most of the sessions are held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Classes meet at various historic locations, beginning with the Rowan Museum. The course includes information on Native Americans, early pioneers, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, industrialization and much more right up to modern times.
The basic text is “Rowan County .. A Brief History,” by James S. Brawley. It is available at the Rowan Public Library, or on CD at the class for $10.
Registration fees are $20 for newcomers to the community (the past 12 months), $25 for current members of HSF or Rowan Museum or $30 for non-members.
