Garden Hosts Fairy Festival for All Ages

BELMONT, N.C. – Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden will host its second annual Fairy Fest on Sunday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during which guests will enjoy a day of crafts, music, fairy house building and more. The Garden is also offering a special fee-based fairy house building workshop beginning at 9:30 a.m.

During the workshop, for ages 14 and up, participants will receive instruction on building fairy houses from natural materials. Their creations will become part of the Garden’s holiday display in The Orchid Conservatory. Advancereservations for the workshop are required and the cost is $45.

The event features the return of popular author Tracy Kane who will share her special fairy and story-telling expertise at this family-friendly event. During the day, guests will have an opportunity to explore nature and their creativity by creating special outdoor habitats for fairies and other small friends. Food trucks and other fun activities will also be available. 

Fairy Fest activities are free with general Garden admission. Admission for Garden members is free, $12.95 for adults, $11.95 for seniors 60+, and $6.95 for children 2-12. Children ages 2-12 wearing fairy wings and/or outfits receive free admission.
