SALISBURY — At least one person was airlifted to a hospital Sunday evening following a two-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of Mooresville Road.

According to emergency scanner traffic, a vehicle struck a tree head-on and another vehicle was also involved in the crash. Two people were taken via ambulance to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center with unknown injuries. One person was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries.

The wreck occurred around 8 p.m. and was under control 20 minutes later.
