33rd annual Lexintgon BBQ Festival

LEXINGTON — Going strong since 1984, the 33rd annual Lexington Barbecue Festival serves one style of barbecue — Lexington Style — as well as seven stages of entertainment, arts and crafts, special attractions and the 17th annual 50-ton Pig Sand Sculpture, located at 220 S. Main St.
Other events include:
Thursday, Oct. 20
• Que Up! Brew Up! Live music, food trucks, beer garden. 6-10 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 21
• Pre-Pig Shindig with live music, food, beverages and fun. 6-10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 22
• Car Show Extravaganza: vintage Corvettes on W. 1st Ave.
• Hogway Speedway: Races of specially bred fleet-footed racing pigs will be held throughout the day
• Hawg Run 5K for people
• Barbecue tents plus hot dogs and pig “tail” fries
• Purina Pro Plan Performance Team Dog Show, 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m
• Joe Sink Jr. honorary blood drive at the YMCA, 119 W. 3rd. Ave. 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
• Wine Garden on East 3rd Ave. Admission $15. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Keith King Bike Stunt Shows at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
• Concerts at the Edward C. Smith Civic Center: See the Trinity Quartet at 11:30 a.m. and the Snyder Family Band at 1 p.m.
• Lumberjack Sports Show: contestants are divided into heats and then finals. Noon and 2 p.m. with finals at 4 p.m.
• Admission to the festival is free; some events require an admission fee.
