Two charged in murder of 90-year-old woman

CONCORD — Two teenagers are facing first-degree murder charges after allegedly killing a 90-year-old woman.

Concord Police on Friday evening arrested Concord residents Anthony Deion Cooper, 17, and Isaiah Powell, 17, on counts of first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied property causing serious bodily injury.

Both men were booked into the Cabarrus County Jail.

Concord Police say Cooper and Powell killed 90-year-old Gilma Goodman during an attempted robbery on Wednesday night. The robbery occurred on the 100 block of McKinnon Avenue in Concord.

Police located Cooper and Powell after receiving a tip from a member of the public.
