Back to school 2016: About this section
Published 12:00 am Friday, August 12, 2016
The first day of school is just around the corner, and whether you’re a parent with a child just starting kindergarten, or a senior looking forward to graduation, there are some things that you should know. This section contains information about expectations and changes for the 2016-17 school year — from lunch prices to school supplies. It also contains an introduction to new principals, tips for keeping technology safe, an update about Rowan County’s new magnet school and more.
If you’re looking for information about a specific school but don’t see it listed here, you can visit the Rowan-Salisbury School’s back to school web update at http://www.rss.k12.nc.us/content/back-school.
So wherever you are in your education journey, I hope you’ll find something in here to help you along the way. You can also keep tabs on what’s happening in the world of local education each day in the paper, or by picking up a copy of the Education section, which runs on Thursdays. Follow @posteducation for updates on events and Board of Education meetings.
