A Mooresville man has been arrested after a two-month undercover operation into the sale and distribution of powder cocaine in the southern part of Iredell County.

Sedrick Markies Barnes, 27, of Vandenbrook Lane, was charged following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Unit and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office SERT Team.

Team members gathered information that Barnes was selling cocaine and marijuana in the N.C. 150-N.C. 152 area of Mooresville. After setting up surveillance, investigators saw Barns selling cocaine. Multiple undercover buys were made, totaling more than 5 ounces of cocaine, from Barnes.

When the search warrant was served, investigators found more than $5,200 as well as cocaine, marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia in the home.

Barnes was served with 10 felony warrants, including four counts of felony trafficking in cocaine, three counts of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of felony sell and deliver cocaine and one count of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Barnes is being held under $400,000 secured bond.

He has a criminal history that includes three felony convictions for possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and two felony convictions of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. He is on supervised probation. He was also out on $100,000 bond for drug charges on June 21 of this year.
