Flash flood watch issued through Thursday morning

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ROWAN COUNTY IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
THE PASSAGE OF MULTIPLE SLOW-MOVING STORMS OVER THE AREA WILL RESULT IN HEAVY TO EXCESSIVE RAINFALL RATES.
THE RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING ALONG SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS.
COVERAGE OF THE SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE ACROSS THE EASTERN SLOPES TO THE ADJACENT PIEDMONT THIS EVENING AND REMAIN OVERNIGHT.
Instructions: A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
