The N.C. Department of Transportation must close a section of Cannon Street between Link Street and Main Street for a pipe replacement in Rockwell.

Weather permitting; crews will close the road at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 25. It is expected to re-open by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27. Work will only take place during daylight hours.

Motorists traveling through the area will use N.C. 152, U.S. 52, Depot Street, Lower Stone Church Road and Cal Miller Road as the one-mile detour.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
