Rowan County wants input on rural broadband

Rowan County is seeking information from county residents about the quality and availability of broadband service in rural communities.

For a limited time, a link to a survey has been posted on the Rowan County website (www.rowancountync.gov). The brief survey is designed to provide data that will identify areas of the county that either have limited broadband service or none at all. The survey also asks questions about what residents are willing to pay to get or improve service.

Broadband refers to Internet service that is faster than dial-up service. Fast, reliable, quality internet service is important for educational and economic purposes. The county is seeking the help of residents in order to create an accurate picture of the need for service in Rowan County.

If residents are unable to access the survey via the website, paper copies are available at every library location:

  • Main Library, 201 W. Fisher St., Salisbury
  • South Rowan Library, 920 Kimball Road, China Grove
  • East Rowan Library, 110 Broad St., Rockwell
