Rowan weather: Better chance of rain Saturday

If the rain predictions play out, we could have a damp Saturday ahead of us.

Today, showers and thunderstorms are likely after 4 p.m., with a 60 percent chance of rain. It will be partly sunny with a high of 90 and west southwest wind at just 5 mph this afternoon.

That 60 percent chance of rain continues tonight, when it will be mostly cloudy and 69.

Saturday also has a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 88 and a 5 mph wind from the southwest.

Saturday night includes a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low of 70 and little wind.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 89 with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Wind will be mostly calm, picking up to 5 mph in the afternoon from the south. The chance of rain Sunday night is just 20 percent. The low will be 70.

Next week, we’ll be in a familiar pattern, with a chance of storms every day and highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Monday has a 30 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny skies will lead to a high of 92. Monday night will be partly cloudy and 72.

Tuesday, it’s back to a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, starting as early as 9 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 92. The chance of rain is 40 percent Tuesday night, with a low of 70.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and 89, with a 40 percent chance of showers. Showers and thunderstorms are also possible Wednesday night, with a low of 69.

Thursday has a 30 percent chance of showers, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 89.
