SALISBURY — A local man was charged after police say he invited a 16-year-old boy over to his home to watch a pornographic movie and inappropriately touched the teen.

Salisbury Police charged Bobby Harold Edwards, 64, of the 300 block of Imperial Drive, with misdemeanor sexual battery and misdemeanor disseminating material to minors.

He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.

Police officials said Edwards purchased a pornographic movie through his cable TV subscription and invited the boy over to watch it. He told the boy the best television in his house was inside his bedroom.

The teen sat beside Edwards to watch the movie and that’s when he told police Edwards touched him. He got up and left and went home where he told someone, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.
