Carmean 50th Anniversary

Charles and Laura Carmean of China Grove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, June 18, 2016. The couple was married at the Bible Baptist Church in Plattsburg, New York by Pastor James Rainey.
Mr. Carmean retired from the US Air Force in 1980 and IBM in 1988. He also worked for South Trust Bank and First Charter Bank in Charlotte. Mrs. Carmean was a stay-at-home mother until all the children were in Corriher Lipe Middle School, then she did work at North Carolina Employment Security Commission in Charlotte. Later she worked for Fieldcrest Cannon in the benefits department.
The couple have four children. Aaron Carmean of kannapolis, Bethany Rehme and husband Ken of Sindglefingen, Germany, Adam Carmean of Charlotte and Keturah Callaway and husband Eddie of Charlotte. The carmeans have four grandchildren, Nevaeh and Addison Carmean of Concord and Drake and Jax Callaway of Charlotte.
A reception honoring the Carmeans was held at Damascus Baptist Church in Statesville June 18, from 2:30-5 p.m., hosted by Keturah Callaway.
