SALISBURY — Salisbury Police say a neighbor’s phone call led officers to arrest three teens in connection with a break-in at Laurel Pointe Apartments over the weekend. One of the three accused was found hiding in the trunk of a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police charged Jamal Aaron West, 17, of the 500 block of Lakewood Drive, Juan Rayvon Fair, 18, of the 700 block of Laurel Point, and Adrianna Christine Ewart, 18, of the 700 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, all with felony second-degree burglary and felony larceny.

The incident occurred Sunday around 10:15 p.m. after a neighbor said they saw a burglary in progress. The neighbor said they saw two televisions being loaded into a red Honda. Police were able to stop the vehicle on Statesville Boulevard in the parking lot of Aaron’s Rental.

Ewart, who was driving the vehicle, was ordered to step out as was the front passenger, Juan Fair. The officer saw a large TV in the back seat and heard a muffled sound coming from the trunk. When the trunk was opened the officer discovered the third person said to be involved, Jamal West, inside the trunk.

Police officials said a window screen was cut and the front door was left ajar by thieves. In addition to a TV, police said another TV was stolen, money, a computer, stereo and Playstation game console. The two TVs were recovered.

West and Fair remain in the Rowan County Detention Center, each under a $50,000 secured bond while Ewart has since been released under a $25,000 unsecured bond.
