Carson Chorus ten year reunion
Members of the Jesse C. Carson chorus will be having a reunion performance to celebrate the school’s tenth year. Rehearsal for the performance will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., the performance will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Carson High School.
Ambassador Christian College awards degrees
KANNAPOLIS — The 2016 commencement exercises of Ambassador Christian College were held on Saturday at Connect Christian Church in Concord. The keynote speaker was Dr. Keith Slough, president of Ambassador Christian College. The following degrees were awarded:
Associate of Arts in Theology

Camp Ready Kids
The American Red Cross in conjunction with Kannapolis Fire, Police, and Parks & Rec. departments will host Camp Ready Kids at New Hope Lutheran Church in Kannapolis on June 22 and 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. The free two-day safety camp is open to rising first through fifth grade students.
Camp Ready Kids is designed with a variety of entertaining and educational activities to teach campers about safety guidelines, disaster and emergency preparedness. Campers participate in a range of activities including:
- Fire safety training
- Environmental safety
- Health and Wellness training
- Gun safety, bullying, internet security, and/or drug abuse prevention
- Forest safety
- Basic first aid
- Water safety training
- Disaster/Emergency Preparedness training
- Games, prizes, and recreation time
Campers are asked to bring a bag lunch each day, but morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
