A Cleveland woman is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center, charged with slashing her boyfriend and then violating pretrial release conditions.

Petrina Lynn McDaniels, of Bucks Run Court, was first charged April 5 with assault with a deadly weapon. Iredell deputies reported she slashed her boyfriend on the stomach and back using a vehicle key.

Pretrial release conditions were set up and she was released under a $15,000 bond.

On May 15, the victim took out a private warrant against McDaniels for simple assault and injury to personal property for a new incident. The victim told the magistrate that McDaniels stabbed him, causing a cut, and hit him with a cell phone. She then burned his clothes and broke his cell phone, the victim said.

Det. Sgt. Katie Harwell, who was familiar with the case and the pretrial release conditions, determined McDaniels was to have no contact with the victim. McDaniels was again placed in the Iredell County Detention Center and given an additional $6,000 bond for the new charges and the violation of the pretrial conditions.
