N.C. Department of Transportation crews will begin a project to widen Anthony Road and improve U.S. 52 and Gold Knob Road in Rockwell starting May 25, a delay of one week due to weather.
Work is now scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25 and is expected to wrap up the last week in July
During the closure motorists will use Park Drive, Gold Knob and U.S. Highway 52 to detour around the closure.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
The work is being done in conjunction with the Anthony Road Bridge replacement project as apart of the department’s overall bridge program to improve the condition of the state’s bridges.
