Rowan weather: Great weekend ahead

Today’s chance of rain has dropped from 50 to 30 percent, with most showers before noon. The skies will gradually clear and we’ll reach a high of 81.

Southwest wind will blow at 5-8 mph, then shift to the west northwest this afternoon.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low of 52 and light west winds.

Sunny for Saturday, with a high of 79, but windy, coming from the southwest at 9-14 mph in the morning, and gusting as high as 22 mph. Saturday night will be mostly clear, almost cold, and still windy. The low will be 47 with northwest wind at 5-13 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

Sunday will be sunny and 70, with west wind at 7-11 mph. Sunday night will be a bit cooler, with a low of 46 and partly cloudy skies.

Monday will be mostly sunny and 72. A 30 percent chance of showers moves in after 8 p.m., with a low of 54. That starts a trend of possible showers for the next three days.

Tuesday’s chance of showers and thunderstorms is 50 percent, with most of the storms in the afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 75. Tuesday night also has a 50 percent chance of rain, including storms, and a low of 62.

Wednesday’s chance of showers and storms is 40 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a high around 80. The chance of rain and thunderstorms rises to 50 percent Wednesday night, with a low of 63.

Thursday will have a 40 percent chance or showers, with mostly cloudy skies again, and a high near 79.
