Prep Tennis: Salisbury doubles team wins regional

Staff report
Salisbury’s No. 1 doubles team of Spencer Storey/David Derrick prevailed in four matches on Friday and Saturday to win the 2A Midwest Regional held in Salisbury.
Salisbury’s Hunter Carlton and Matt Sukkasem won first-round singles matches but lost in the second round.
The Salisbury doubles team of Roarke Burton/Adam Drye was eliminated in the first round.
The top four doubles teams and top four singles players advance from each regional to the state tournament in Cary on May 13-14.
The dual team state playoffs will resume this week, with the Hornets hosting Brevard in a second-round match.
