Rowan weather: Another day of rain, storms

Monday brought downpours, thunder and lightning, and we’re in for more today with a 100 percent chance of rain.

The heavier rain will move in after 9 a.m., with a calm wind becoming south around 6 mph. The high will be 78. Between a quarter and a half inch of rain is possible.

Some of the storms could become severe, as we experienced Monday.

Tonight has a 60 percent chance of storms and showers, with a low of 55 and calm wind. A tenth to a quarter of an inch rain is expected.

Wednesday has just a 20 percent chance of showers in the morning; the skies will become partly sunny and the high will be 72, thanks to the cold front that stirred up the atmosphere. Winds will be 5-8 mph from the west. Wednesday night also has a 20 percent chance of showers and a low around 50, with west winds at 3-5 mph.

The rain chance goes back up to 40 percent Thursday, especially in the afternoon. It will be partly sunny and cooler, with a high of 64. Northwest wind will blow at 6-11 mph. The chance of rain is 20 percent Thursday night, with a chilly low of 47.

Friday will be nice — mostly sunny and 72. The low will be 50.

It warms to 77 degrees Saturday with sunny skies. The low will be 54.

Sunday will be sunny and warm, with a high of 82. The low will be 60.

And Monday will be mostly sunny and 82 again.
