Renowned hairstylist providing training at Gemini Hair and Nail Fashion

Vikie Mason, national director of education for Phyto Academy, an award-winning specialist in the salon industry, is enhancing Gemini Hair and Nail Fashion’s mission of “look good today and everyday.” Current techniques taught will cover how to cut and style each client’s hair type to achieve the most out of the hair, but most importantly, a haircut and style so the client can replicate the salon look at home.

The focus will include all hair categories and lengths from short to mid to long. Each stylist will have hands-on experience with a model as they are individually instructed.

The training is on May 3 and starts at 9 a.m.

Mason was most recently the academy director and salon educator for Vidal Sassoon and mentored and educated more than 9,000 students through the Sassoon Academy in Chicago. Now as the national director of education for the Phyto Academy, she brings a wealth of experience on this plant-based product and talent to our area. Instruction of this caliber is usually only found in Europe, Chicago, New York and California.

Along with her education component, Mason manages a coalition of the top international stylists. Those impressive stylists include: Jose Edber, winner of the Global Salon Business Lifetime Achievement Award, Matthew Preece, one of the industry’s most sought-after editorial and celebrity hairstylists, and  Trini, celebrity hairstylist and founder and creative director of Trini Salon & Spa.

Rowan County 4-H yard, craft and vendor sale

This event is being held at the Rowan County Center for the N.C. Cooperative Extension, 2727 Old Concord Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be crafters, vendors and the 4-H Program will be having a yard sale, all indoors. All proceeds from the yard sale portion of the event go to help the 4-H program with providing scholarships to 4-H camp, purchasing educational materials, purchasing awards and providing teens with trips to Congress and N.C. Citizenship Focus. There will be something for everyone.
