Livengood-Peeler-Wood Auxiliary

GRANITE QUARRY — Livengood-Peeler-Wood Auxiliary met for its monthly meeting on April 26 at the GQ Legion Building. A fundraiser dinner was served followed by the business meeting. A report on activities at the VA was given and future dates to play bingo were discussed. April personal item donations for verterans were soap and bath gel. Memorial flags will be placed on graves at local churchs in May. A program on the effects of military life to both veterans and families was presented to the 1o members present.

Cannon/Fieldcrest/Pillowtex Distribution Center reunion

On Friday, May 6 from noon-2 p.m., former employees of the Distribution Center at Cannon/Fieldcrest/Pillowtex and their guests are invited to gather at Golden Corral in Concord for a Dutch-treat luncheon. The most senior person attending and the person with the longest consecutive years of employment will be recognized.

Northwest Cabarrus reunion

Northwest Cabarrus High School staff and alumni are currently planning a Fall and Spring 50th Anniversary Celebration, for 15 Oct. 15, 2016 and April 29, 2017. We would love to hear from any alumni or past staff members/teachers who are interested in helping plan these events, or to provide memorabilia to display, or just to continue to get information regarding this momentous occasion. Southern Gospel Music by The Reformers at KHA

GREENSBORO — Central Carolina Bridge Association, Unit 169, is sponsoring a sectional duplicate bridge tournament May 13-15, at the Greensboro Shrine Club, 5010 High Point Road. Stratified Open and 499er Pairs games begin at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s Open and 499er Swiss Teams begin at 10 a.m., with lunch included.

Faith Idol 2016 

FAITH — The 2016 Faith Idol Competition is now accepting applications in three categories • Age 12 and under •  Age 13-19 • Age 19 and over.
