Reading All-Stars this week at Intimidators

KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affilaite of the Chicago White Sox, open a four-game home stand on Thursday against the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore Orioles) which features three games dedicated to celebrating local students who earned a trip to the ballpark as Reading All-Stars.

The Intimidators will welcome students from Rowan-Salisbury schools on both Friday and Sunday as well as students from Stanly County Schools on Saturday as part of the Reading All-Stars program, presented by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade will be recognized for their academic accomplishments with a special pre-game parade as well as free admission to the game. All parents, siblings, and guests of a Reading All-Star student can buy additional reserved tickets for only $3 at the ballpark on game day (must show a Reading All-Star certificate at time of purchase).

Thursday, April 21 at 7:05 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m.; vs. Delmarva — It’s Wear Your Favorite Jersey Night on Thursday, and fans are invited to wear a baseball uniform or sports jersey to the ballpark.  Anyone wearing their favorite sports jersey to the game on Thursday can buy a discounted reserved ticket for only $5.

It’s time to rock at the ballpark as the Intimidators host a Salute to Stadium Anthems. We Will Rock You from first pitch through final out while fans get Thunderstruck by some of the classic stadium songs played all game long.  Every Thursday is a Thirsty Thursday presented by Buffalo Wild Wings at Exit 54/Afton Ridge Shopping Center featuring discounted drinks all game long. After the game, fans can play Launch-A-Ball presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods for a chance to win Intimidators prize packs and tickets to future games.

Friday, April 22 at 7:05 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m.; vs. Delmarva — Friday is Get Healthy Kannapolis Night as the Intimidators are joined by the Cabarrus Health Alliance and the city of Kannapolis to promote healthy living within the community. Fans can take a physical challenge at the box office for a $5 reserved ticket, doing sit ups and jumping jacks for a ticket discount. The Intimidators will also offer 2-for-1 health snacks all game long. Love Chiropractic, Ryan Foot and Ankle Clinic, and Sticks and Stones Massage will also be in attendance to promote healthy living.

Friday’s game is also Bass Pro Shops Night as the outdoor superstore gives away special prize bags to the first 500 kids into Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Bass Pro Shops will have special giveaways and deals all game long, so fans are encouraged to visit their display table inside the main entrance.

Saturday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m., gates open at 6 p.m.; vs. Delmarva — It’s Girl Scout Night with the Intimidators on Saturday, as all uniformed Girl Scouts are invited to parade around the field before the game in a special ceremony. After the game, Girl Scouts and their parents can participate in our annual Girl Scout camp out with a baseball clinic starting Sunday morning with Intimidators players. Sunday, April 24 at 5:05 p.m., gates open at 4 p.m.; vs. Delmarva — All dogs are welcome to the team’s first of two Bark in the Park games, presented this week by Camp Bow Wow. The Intimidators will host a pre-game “Parade of Paws” while also hosting several in-game contests for dogs.

Sunday is also Kids Day presented by Cornerstone Church, featuring pre-game player autographs (from 4:20 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.) and post-game kids run the bases. All tickets for kids ages 4-12 are $5 in both reserved and general admission sections.  As part of Kids Day, the Intimidators are giving away vouchers for free concourse rides to the first 500 kids, presented by Kannapolis Parks & Recreation.
