Police say a fight between a woman and her girlfriend got out of hand when she pointed a gun at the woman and then fired the gun.

Salisbury Police charged Michelle Feimster Bailey, 47, of the 600 block of West Liberty Street, with misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.

Officials said someone heard a fight between the two and one person had a gun. When police arrived at the West Liberty Street home, they kicked in the door and found the two women fighting, a report said.

Police said Michelle Bailey not only pointed the gun at her live-in girlfriend, but she also fired the gun into the floor.

She remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond because of the domestic nature of the incident.
