One Day Spring Revival today

Today, Saturday, April 9, there is a one day Spring Revival at 11 a.m. at Rose Of Sharon Holiness Church, 255 Camp Road. Guest speaker will be Pastor Paschall Mcnair of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, West End. Host pastor is Lewis G. Walker.

 

Women’s day at Providence UMC 

Sunday is United Methodist Women’s day at Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Road. Guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. worship servicewill be Tonya Lanier, Conference UMW President.

Women’s Day at God’s Tabernacle

ROCKWELL — Women’s Day will be observed on Sunday April 10 at 3 p. m. at God’s Tabernacle For Believers Ministry, 304 W. Main St. The speaker will be Dr. Doris Clawson of Lilly’s Chapel Church of God. Reginald D. McConneaughey Sr. and Frenchie McConneaughey serve as pastor and co-pastor.

 

Erwin Temple hosts Seven Ups program

The Pastor’s Aide Ministry of Erwin Temple Church will present its annual program Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. The program is entitled “The Seven Ups.” There will be seven guest speakers from various area churches with each one speaking on one of the Seven Ups. Gospel singing will be provided during the program.

 

Women’s Day at New Bethel Baptist

MOCKSVILLE — New Bethel Baptist Church, 585 Boxwood Church Road, will be hosting its annual Women’s Day program on Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Pamela Carrington Holder, of New Faith Baptist Church in Greensboro, will be the guest speaker. Her husband, the Rev. B.R. Holder, is the current pastor of New Faith Baptist and the former pastor of New Bethel Baptist. Rev. Dr. Holder and her husband planted the New Faith Baptist church in Greensboro, where she serves as associate pastor and minister of praise and worship. She holds a masters and a doctorate degree of divinity and is a chaplain for Cone Health. Dr. Holder has served in leadership capacities for the General Baptist State Convention and NC Baptist Convention.

Annual Cornelius Family celebration

MOORESVILLE — The annual Cornelius Family celebrating the legacy of Charles (Kent) Cornelius, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday April 10 at Sills Creeks AME Zion Church, 3165 Bradshaw Road, off Hwy 150. On program will be Unity and Praise of Salisbury, The Pilgrimaires of Salisbury, The Anointed Vessels of the Carolinas and special guests Pork Chop and the Fellas of Lancaster, S.C.

Cook Family at St. Matthew’s Lutheran

The Cook Family, a southern gospel group based in Denton, will perform on Sunday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. in the family life center.

The group, which combines southern gospel, bluegrass and country gospel, was created more than 40 years ago by Lawrence Cook. Children and spouses jumped into the group over the years, as the family expanded and a few others joined as well.Band members are James Cook on guitar; Lonnie Cook and Daniel on drums; Ronnie Cook on base and vocals; Tony Cook lead guitar; Doug Stuart on piano, guitar and vocals; Otha, Gina, Tonya, Amanda and Candice Cook and Stacey Stuart on vocals.The group has performed in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and West Virginia.

Revival at Moore’s Chapel AME Zion

CLEVELAND — Spring revival services at Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church will be held Monday, April 11 through Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. nightly. Evangelist will be the Rev. Carolyn Bratton, pastor of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church. The Rev. Eddie L. Fortson is host pastor.

 

Breakfast and bake sale in Spencer

SPENCER — Spencer Presbyterian Church’s breakfast and bake sale fundraiser will be 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, grits, toast, drink, at $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12. There is no charge for Veterans. Proceeds support various ministries of the church. Breakfast will be served in the educational building, 117 1st St. off Salisbury Avenue across from the N.C. Transportation Museum entrance.

 

In My Father’s House Outreach Ministries

St. John AME Zion hosts Legends Ball

MOCKSVILLE — The St. John AME Zion Church Trustees will sponsor the inaugural “Legends Ball: Honoring Women In the Community,” a semi-formal affair featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres. The DC Cruisers will be on hand to escort our legends to the facility. Tickets are $20. The event is at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the First United Methodist Church family life center, 310 N. Main St. The Rev. Tamica L. Robinson is pastor St. John AME Zion.
