A Salisbury man received minor injuries Thursday following a single-vehicle crash in the 5300 block of South Main Street. He was temporarily pinned inside his vehicle, a Highway Patrol trooper said.

Junius Watson, 72, of Rowan Mill Road, was traveling north on U.S. 29/South Main Street in his 2000 Toyota Camry when he went left of center, ran off the road to the left, struck some trees and a solar panel pole, said Trooper C.F. Rogers.

The wreck occurred at 12:25 p.m. and was under control not long after 1 p.m.

Rogers said it’s possible Watson had a medical condition because he doesn’t remember what happened. He was pinned in the vehicle, Rogers said, because of the damage to the driver’s side door. He had to be removed from the car via the passenger’s side.

He did receive some scratches from the broken glass, Rogers said.

Watson’s vehicle was towed from the scene. He refused medical treatment at the scene. He was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane control.
