Man fails to stop at stop sign, causes accident on Stokes Ferry Road

- Amanda Raymond/Salisbury Post A driver who failed to stop at a stop sign caused another driver of a Chevrolet Equinox to flip over on its side on Stokes Ferry Road on Saturday morning. The driver and passengers were transported to Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

A man who failed to stop at a stop sign caused an accident Saturday morning at the intersection of Stokes Ferry and High Rock roads.
According to State Trooper C.J. Doty, a man was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring in a northeast direction on High Rock Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign where the road intersects with Stokes Ferry Road. The man hit the right rear corner of a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox that was traveling southeast on Stokes Ferry Road.
The Chevrolet ran off Stokes Ferry Road and ended up turned over on its side. The Chrysler went across Stokes Ferry Road and hit a sign head-on on the side of High Rock Road.
The West Liberty Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident.
There was one adult and three children in the Chevrolet. They were transported to Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.
The man driving the Chrysler will be charged with failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without an operator’s license.
