Blotter: Kannapolis man charged with several crimes after fighting officers

A Kannapolis man was arrested Friday on a number of counts after allegedly fighting law enforcement officers from the Landis Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Kannapolis resident Chadwick Jerome Pearson, 17, was charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner, two counts of communicating threats, assault on a government official, resisting a public officer, intoxicated and disruptive, underage consumption of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule four controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance on jail premises.

He remained in jail on Sunday under a $20,000 total bond.

Warrants for Pearson state he emitted bodily fluids at officers, elbowed an officer in the groin and kicked another between his knee and groin.

Pearson also allegedly ran and hid under the deck of a house, said he would take an officer’s gun and “blow his brains out” and said a number of other profane things toward officers.

The drug charges came after officers allegedly found a rubber glove containing marijuana on Pearson.

• Kannapolis resident Austin Jay Adams, 27, was charged Friday with simple possession of a schedule four controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule two controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana up to one and one half ounces, possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

• Kannapolis resident Misty Dawn Bunton, 30, was charged Friday with second degree trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer.

• Salisbury resident Phantasha Krystal Sky Cook, 22, was charged Saturday with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance, possession of a schedule four controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, two counts of possession of a schedule four controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance on jail premises.

• Salisbury resident Jermain Antonio Adams, 23, was charged Sunday with a protective order violation, resisting a public officer, communicating threats and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

• Salisbury resident Gregory Allen Ogara Jr, 30, was charged Sunday with assault with a deadly weapon.
