A former Captain Ds employee was fired, police officials said, after she stole a bag of mozzarella cheese sticks from the restaurant.

Someone at the restaurant saw the woman put a bag of 30 cheese sticks valued at $15 in her shirt, take them to a back room and then put them in her purse. The incident occurred Saturday at the restaurant, located at 707 E. Innes St.

The restaurant declined to press charges against her, but instead terminated the woman, Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said.

The woman would’ve faced a felony larceny by employee charge.
