Salisbury VA Health Care System will host an open house and veteran town hall meeting at the new Charlotte VA Health Care Center (HCC), 3506 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, on Wednesday, March 9.

Medical Director Kaye Green will host the town hall from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. on the second floor of the new facility. The event will also include a question and answer session with leadership from the Charlotte HCC. Information booths will be set up to provide education on healthcare services available from VA.

Tours of the new HCC will be available from 2 until 5 p.m. Additionally, veterans who are not enrolled in VA health care can bring their military discharge paperwork (DD-214) and apply for enrollment. Staff will be available to assist in determining eligibility, filling out enrollment request forms and scheduling appointments.

Veterans, family members and other beneficiaries are invited to attend. Congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), non-governmental organizations and other community partners are welcome.

The town hall meeting will be open to the media. To protect individual privacy and confidentiality, specific individual issues should be addressed to a staff member instead of the public forum.

Executive team members of the Salisbury VAMC will be present, along with leadership from the Charlotte VA Health Care Center, to provide updates on the facility’s construction progress and projected opening. The leadership team is looking forward to hearing from local veterans and gaining valuable feedback as it increases access and the variety of services offered in the Charlotte area and continues to improve its health care system.
