• Brown to commission as Naval Officer

Anthony Brown was recently selected to commission as a Naval Officer and is studying in Newport, R.I., to be followed up with one month training in Florida to become an Aviation Maintenance Officer.

Ensign Brown’s next duty station will be in California. Since his enlistment in 2001, he has served at Whidbey Island, Washington; Asheville; and Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia. Deployments have taken him to Bahrain, Qatar, Japan and the Arabian Gulf onboard USS George HW Bush.

Brown is the son of Guy and Joanne Brown of Salisbury, and attended West Rowan High School and Davie Community College.
