The investigation continued Wednesday into a fire that destroyed a mobile home and displaced a family and their pets Tuesday afternoon.

One dog has returned to the family.

Santiago Arriola and Maria Calzada, lost their 150 Kristy Lane home to a fire Tuesday. Firefighters rescued a cat, and a number of rabbits from the home, but the couple’s three dogs were not immediately located.

One dog returned while firefighters were still on the scene, and Heather Lemaster with the Red Cross said that a second dog returned soon after firefighters left. The third dog has not been found, but is assumed to be out loose, as no remains were found during an investigation.

Arriola and Calzada, along with their three children, received aid from the Red Cross after their house was deemed a total loss by fire officials. Arriola was transported for treatment for burns. Lemaster reports that the agency has received calls offering clothing and household items for the family.

“We appreciate the community helping this family,” she said in an e-mail.
