Snow and ice closes game
We are getting ready to host the yearly Salisbury Dogwood Tournament. There are some corrections and additions to the flyers many of you have seen. First, Saturdays’ sessions are at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Second, for the first time we will have a lunch between these sessions to save time and stress. There will be a modest cost of $3 for hot dogs with chilli, baked beans and chips. Tickets will be available at the beginning of the morning session. Spread the word and plan to stay.
So many of you have commented on the horrible hands I manage to shuffle and deal for our games. I promise that there are no shenanigans and that the hands are honest.
In looking for a hand to give you this week I came across the worst board I think I’ve ever seen. Take a close look at this one and try to decide what you could do with board #24 from the Tuesday, Jan. 19 Women’s Club game. The only bid that was made was 3NS+3. Some “gifts” had to be given. The 6NS bid was defeated 3 tricks. Bids and results were all over the place. This was a truly demonic problem
