CONCORD – Cannon School’s head football coach Brad Hoover sat for a panel discussion on Wednesday, answering questions about when he played for the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII. He was joined by Cannon School head strength and conditioning coach Shawn Powell, who served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Panthers in the same Super Bowl.

“We were a team that just bonded and gelled, and everything happened to go in the right direction,” Hoover said about the Panthers’ 2003 season. “Any game is a roller coaster ride, but especially the Super Bowl. We had some shots, but we just came up a little short in the end.” Hoover also answered questions about attitude, perseverance, and teamwork.

Unsurprisingly, both Hoover and Powell believe the Carolina Panthers will win Super Bowl 50.

Cannon School is a private independent junior kindergarten through 12th grade college-preparatory institution. It attracts 1,000 students from Concord, Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, Mooresville, Charlotte, the University City area, Kannapolis and Salisbury.
