MOORESVILLE — The bond for a Mooresville man already in jail has been raised by $90,000 following evidence that he violated his pretrial conditions, authorities said.

Rex Leroy Locke, 35, of Carolwoods Drive, was first charged after a Dec. 9, 2015, domestic dispute. He was charged with interfering with emergency communications, second-degree trespassing and assault on a female.

Upon further investigation, he was also charged with second-degree burglary and habitual misdemeanor assault. For all of those charges, he received an $80,000 bond.

Locke was given pretrial release conditions by a judge, saying he was to have no contact of any kind with the victim by any means, including a third party.

On Jan. 21, Iredell detectives found Locke had been secretly using other inmates’ PINs to make phone calls to the victim from the jail, authorities said.

He was given an additional $90,000 bond, making the total bond $170,000.
