Accountant group welcomes new staff members
Davis Group P.A., Certified Public Accountants is pleased to announce the addition of Rita Sigmon, CPA and Tara Trexler, CPA to its staff.
Sigmon, has over 15 years of public accounting experience providing accounting and tax services to businesses in a variety of industries. She is a graduate of High Point University with a B.S. in Accounting and received her N.C. CPA license in 2000. Sigmon will be assisting clients with bookkeeping, payroll and tax compliance including tax return preparation for individuals.
Trexler, a Rowan County native and former CFO of the Rowan-Salisbury School System, received a B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters of Accounting from Appalachian State University. Tara earned her N.C. CPA license in 2000. She previously worked in public accounting and will be assisting clients with accounting services, tax planning and tax return preparation for entities including corporations, partnerships and individuals.

John Haller named director of sales for Carolina Color
To support its growth during the past five years, Carolina Color Corporation is pleased to announce that John Haller has been named director of sales.
“The idea of establishing this new position has been under discussion for quite awhile and we believe it is time to fill the position with John Haller, who joined our company in August of 2010,” states Matt Barr, the chief executive officer at Carolina Color.
“Our next phase of growth must be fueled by the broad market adoption of G3, successful entry into the PET market, and a keen focus on our core business. With John’s guidance, we believe our sales organization is more than up to the task. John’s considerable industry experience, liquid color background and in-depth knowledge of the packaging industry will serve us well as we move forward.”
John Haller brings more than 20 years of experience in the color industry. He earned his Bachelor of Communications degree at Rowan University in Philadelphia, Pa.
Caring Connection Meetings start on Jan. 27
Comfort Keepers and Whitley’s Funeral Home are starting their monthly Caring Connections Meetings for 2016 beginning Jan. 27 at 11:30 a.m. All meetings are senior-based with professionals speaking on various methods of care and concerns pertaining to aging adults in a changing world.
We are pleased to have Martha McDowell, N.C. central regional director of the North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM), speak with us. NCBAM is a dynamic Christian resource dedicated to serving North Carolina’s aging (65 years and older) by providing information and referrals to connect older adults and their families with resources to meet needs of the aging. Although NCBAM is sponsored by the Baptist Ministries, it is available for all denominations of faith and non-faith aging adults.

Fastenal opens location in Mocksville
Fastenal, a company that sells industrial and construction supplies, opened a new location in Mocksville on Wednesday.
The company already has a location in Salisbury, but believes in covering as many local businesses as possible by opening new locations, according to Erika Miller, general manager.
“Our motto is growth through customer service, and I think we just apply that really well,” Miller said.
Fastenal, which has over 2,500 stores nationwide, also helps local companies with inventory management.
The store is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. It is located at 1053 Yadkinville Rd.
