Artist Patt Legg – Looking ‘back in time’ at her one woman show

Published 12:00 am Thursday, January 7, 2016

00Local artist Patt Legg has decided to take us “Back in Time” to the ’50s and ’60s, showing her latest and brand news works of art.

Legg says, “It’s 2016 …  and looking back at some good ole times will give us a lift, wrapped up in nostalgia.”

Legg has worked diligently and burned the midnight oil preparing for her One Woman Show at Rail Walk Studios and Gallery.

Legg is one of six artists who work and show regularly at Rail Walk Studios on Lee St. in Salisbury. She also works from her historic renovated 1928 home that she has christened “the artists bungalow.”

Legg had decided late to prep for a solo show, promising herself she could work under pressure to prepare at least 10 brand new works of art. “I think I’ve done it,” she says.

The largest work of art will be 5 ft x 7 ft. with others 30” x 40” and smaller. Most all of the artwork is related to the Back In Time theme.

There will also be a drawing at about 8 p.m. at Friday’s reception, with the lucky winner receiving a discount off the price of the painting the evening of the show (must be present to win). Legg also will be in period attire. The reception will be a “celebration of sorts” of her birthday month of January. “I plan on celebrating it all month!” she says.

But no presents please — only your presence is requested.

Come celebrate with Patt at Rail Walk Studios and Gallery, 409 N. Lee St., on Friday, Jan. 8, from 6 until 9 p.m. Finger food and wine/beer will be available. Admission is free.
