On Dec. 15, faculty, staff and guests gathered at the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center to celebrate the accomplishments of 53 December graduates. These graduates join over 3,500 alumni who have earned their diploma or degree from Cabarrus College since 1942.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Victor Armstrong, vice president of behavioral health at Carolinas HealthCare System. The vice president of the Cabarrus College Alumni Association, Brittany Gay, also addressed the graduates.

Prior to confirming the degrees, two awards were presented. The Cannon Best All-Around Nursing Student Award recognizes the associate of science in nursing graduate who excels in scholastic standing, personal and social relations, and co-curricular activities. This award was presented to Jennifer Jenkins.

The George A. Batte, Jr. Scholastic Achievement Award recognizes the associate of science in nursing graduate who has the highest cumulative grade point average. This was presented to Hollis Deal.
